Job Title: Electrical Inspector (contract)
Based: Tessenderlo, Belgium.
Contract Length: 8 months.
Rate: c.£90,000 per annum pro rata.
Start Date: ASAP - August 2010.
Our customer, a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy, is committed to the continued growth of their Power Generation Team and hope to become a leading player in this field and the Consultant of choice for customers industry-wide. Consequently we are currently assisting them in their search for talented individuals to us help achieve these ambitious aims.
This contract position is with our customer's on-site Project Team based at Tessenderlo in Belgium. Our customer's site engineering staff form an integral part of the Client’s construction management team overseeing the onsite execution works of this EPC project. The members of the team have defined roles and specialities and are expected to co-ordinate and co-operate with other team members to successfully progress the project. This site engineering team operate under the direction and supervision of the Site Lead Engineer.
Within this role, it is anticipated that the tasks and responsibilities of the successful Electrical Inspector will include:
*reporting to the customer's Lead Engineer.
*have responsibility for overseeing the electrical erection works performed by the EPC contractor and ensuring that the Client’s interests are being adequately addressed.
*hold responsibility for inspection/verification of the erection/installation, mechanical completion and possibly cold commissioning of the complete scope of electrical equipment and systems to ensure that the EPC works are carried out correctly and result in an asset that will give long trouble free in service life.
*be responsible for ensuring that quality, control and assurance issues are being correctly addressed by the EPC contractor and that adequate records are being maintained.
*be responsible for monitoring and recording construction progress in area of responsibility.
*responsible for verifying and documenting the achievement of progress milestones.
*hold responsibility in conjunction with the other members of the site team for ensuring that health and safety issues are correctly addressed by the EPC contractor.
To be successful within this exciting new role, we anticipate that the successful applicant will need the following skills, knowledge and experience:
*extensive experience of electrical engineering is essential for this role.
*ideally the applicant will have previous commercial experience of working within a CCGT project.
