Working on behalf of an exceptional organisation here in Cardiff,  we are currently searching for a highly experienced Project Manager,  with a proven track record of delivery.  Working alongside our customer’s Risk Department,  the Project Manager will manage the overall climate delivery plan and ensure a coordinated approach to delivery.  You will take responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of an initial climate change programme,  encompassing new and established projects,  across Line 1 and Line 2 and covering the entire organisation.  You will be tasked with guiding the transition from programme to BAU work,  as well as taking responsibility for coordinating the ongoing delivery of climate-related initiatives,  in line with agreed climate aims and targets.

Our customer is undertaking a programme of work across front line businesses,  facilities and estates,  investments,  as well as risk,  compliance and governance,  to reduce its impact on the environment and to understand and manage the risks that climate change poses to the business.  The work includes ongoing business initiatives,  as well as shorter-term projects,  and requires coordination to ensure that all initiatives work co-operatively to deliver expected benefits and to ensure that our customer hits climate-related targets and goals.

The successful Project Manager will themselves collate and produce reports based upon the activities being completed within the business,  to track progress against the goals and objectives,  identifying key risks and issues including any lack of coverage.  You would also tailor communication into the business,  as well as to other stakeholders,  as required.  Projects and programmes must be fully documented and maintained,  including risk / issues logs,  communication logs,  change control and any other controls as defined within the project framework.

We anticipate that the successful candidate for this exciting new position will have responsibility for the following:
*agree programme / ongoing objectives.
*manage and organise resources.
*ensure that critical success factors are met.
*guarantee that quality standards are met.
*use IT or other systems to keep track of people and progress
*oversee and own financial management and budgets.
*report to Steering Committees, Management Committees, Programme and Portfolio checkpoints.
*evaluate success against benchmarks.
*develop and maintain a close relationship with business stakeholders,  to ensure effective and efficient implementation of overall work and individual projects
*consolidate high level, realistic and detailed projects plans,  to ensure overall delivery against agreed priorities and deadlines.
*provide challenge to Project Managers when producing individual project plans.
*manage change effectively,  utilising the correct communication channels.
*fully document work,  providing regular reports of progress to relevant parties.
*support project risk assessments.
*embed climate-related work into the new change framework.

We anticipate that the successful candidate for this exciting new opportunity will have the following skills,  knowledge and experience:
*proven and demonstrable record of successful Project or Programme Management.
*strong ability to manage work in line with priorities.
*workstream planning and critical path analysis.
*budget management experience.
*stakeholder management experience.​
*strong understanding of delivery methodologies (Waterfall and Agile preferred).

Desirable skills / knowledge / experience would include:
*relevant Project Management qualifications,  such as PRINCE2 or APM.
*technical knowledge of relevant IT systems.
*an understanding of Insurance and / or Financial Services.
*an understanding of the regulatory landscape (FCA, PRA, etc.).
*an interest in climate change.
