Lead of team of 5 in a Customer Service Manager role

This is a managerial role for a leading eCommerce group in Somerset. Duties include supervising and managing a customer service team of 5 people – making sure staff members are trained and able to provide first-class customer service.

Salary: £30k p.a.

Key responsibilities will include…

  • Oversees all aspects of the customer service experience to troubleshoot processes and procedures; making improvements to the quality of customer service in a busy eCommerce environment
  • Implements effective processes for your customer service team so they can interact with customers via telephone, email, or instant message
  • Providing training on handling of sensitive customer service issues
  • Providing regular reports to Senior Management about department milestones and progress
  • Holding regular meetings with department staff to discuss expectations and hear team concerns
  • Plans and maintains departmental budget
  • Responsible for departmental recruitment and retention, as well as accurate and regular reports regarding staff changes
  • Coordinates with sales department to incorporate plans to increase customer satisfaction
  • Liaises with Senior Management, vendors, contractors and key stakeholders to ensure quality of products and efficiency of department

For this Customer Service Manager, role we are looking for a candidate who can show demonstrable skills and experience in a team-leading or managerial role in a busy customer service environment. Ideally you’ll have managed a small budget and put in place processes and procedues to ensure your customers receive the best quality service at all times.

You’ll also have experience of complaint resolution and demonstrate interpersonal excellence at all times. We’d expect solid IT skills and you’ll be a competent user of Excel, Word, and Outlook as well as being able to show the ability to work with a modern CRM easily. Above all, you’ll need to be well-organised, unflappable under pressure and able to get the best out of people.
