For this exciting new opportunity, there will be a great deal of flexibility with regard to remote working, with our customer's current team working across locations such as Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow and Birmingham. Whilst we imagine that some office-based working will make up the working week in the future, there is great scope for flexibility and this can be discussed and negotiated during the application process.
Within this unique and exciting new opportunity for a Data Engineer (Azure), you will have the opportunity to work with a team of Data Scientists and Software Developers to design, provision and implement the appropriate technologies for our customer's solutions. You will assist their business to set up systems for data ingestion from business operations. Whilst they hope to find someone with an up-to-date technical skill base and a willingness to regularly review and develop their skills (to respond to market changes and developments), the business will be fully supportive of such development and progression of skills and knowledge.

Working closely with the team, you will consult, analyse the requirements and develop solutions to allow real business change.

The team are responsible for incubating, building and running new products and solutions for their customers – meaning you are joining a team of fast-moving problem solvers, working on varied and interesting challenges. As a result of unprecedented growth, our customer are now eager to bring an enthusiastic Data Engineer (Azure) into their existing team.
We anticipate that the Data Engineer for this exceptional new opportunity will have some of the following skills, knowledge and experience:
*strong knowledge of Azure cloud services.
*experience in any of Azure data solutions (Data Lake, Data Factory, Synapse Analytics).
*experience in relational or non-relational database solutions.
*programming skills (Python or C# for example).
*understanding of data architecture patterns, including data mesh, microservices, etc.
*familiarity with working in an Agile environment.
Other skills and knowledge which would be useful, yet not essential are as follows:
*the ability to build data pipelines within Azure Data Factory.
*databricks / Spark.
*Microsoft certifications.
*experience in designing and implementing distributed systems.
*experience with alternative Cloud providers.
