Working on behalf of an your future employer here in Cardiff,  we are currently searching for an experienced and passionate Financial Reporting Controls Manager,  with a proven track record of delivering a robust and comprehensive controls framework into large and growing organisations.  If you're looking for great variety within a new role,  with exceptional opportunities for growth and progression,  then this could very well be your future employer.

Amongst the work that you could expect to be involved with would be mapping the core processes,  as well as identifying and documenting existing controls and controls testing; identifying any opportunities to improve the controls,  testing of controls or evidencing of controls testing with the different business areas;  working with areas of the business to understand the impacts to the controls framework from any planned changes,  either regulatory or business initiated; building relationships with key Senior Managers to understand any current or upcoming challenges related to the controls framework,  as well as its implementation and how you can support them in meeting these challenges.  There would also be opportunities to provide consultancy and support to Senior Management in managing the controls framework within their area of expertise,  this being in the form of bespoke reviews and workshops.

We anticipate that the successful candidate for this exciting new position will have responsibility for the following:
Controls
*identifying and assessing the existing controls framework, including the testing and evidencing of controls effectiveness for entities within the organisation,  as well as within the organisation as a whole.
*identifying areas for improvement in the existing control framework (either in terms of the controls or the evidencing of controls adherence),  reporting upon this and providing recommendations for improvement.
*ensuring that controls are tested,  with evidence provided,  in accordance with the controls framework.
*ensuring that any controls improvement activities are delivered following an agreed action plan.

General
*manage a team of Controls Analysts,  who will be responsible for assessing controls and testing their effectiveness.
*develop and maintain key Stakeholder relationships across the organisation,  with a specific focus on the controls framework.
*act in accordance with all relevant policies and processes.
*research and share best practice around controls frameworks including,  but not limited to,  process definition,  control identification,  controls testing,  collation of controls testing / evidencing,  controls reporting.

To make your working week as enjoyable and productive as possible, it’d be great to find someone with a great passion for Financial Controls,  as well as experience with some of the following:
*strong experience of controls auditing, ideally Sarbannes-Oxley,  COSO or similar controls assurance (either business or technology controls).
*experience in designing and implementing controls frameworks,  ideally within the Financial sector.
*experience in performing Audits within a Financial setting.
*ability to collate and synthesise data in terms of materiality and risk.
*able to build open relationships and gain consensus with stakeholders.
*an ability to understand processes,  identify relevant risks and consequent controls.
*strong education background and / or commercial experience,  with a good working knowledge of Risk Management.
