This is an exciting opportunity to join a stable, well-thought-of software group who are are looking for a hands-on Development Manager.
Key responsibilities shall be to oversee the running of a growing Web Development team and write beautifully clean, well-documented code to a high standard for an established software group. Managerial duties will include day-to-day running of the team but also includes resource allocation, recruitment, planning, team's time management and budgets for projects.
You must demonstrate experience of handling team leading and management issues (appraisals, staff development etc...) in combination with solid experience of Back End Web Development. Above all, you'll need to be an excellent communicator, unflappable under pressure and used to helping a Software Development team meet tight deadlines.
From a Development point of view, we seek solid knowledge of PHP 7 and MySQL. Basic Front End skills (Javascript, HTML5 and CSS3) will help. We are looking for experience within any PHP framework (Codeignitor, Symfony, Laravel etc...) plus JavaScript and Object Orientated Programming (OOP) skills. Basic user experience of Linux (preferably Debian/Ubuntu) and Linux networking skills will also help.
