Group Risk Manager / Liquidity Risk Specialist / Stress & Scenario Testing / Analysis & Modelling

The Group Risk team will hold responsibility for the following:
*to help co-ordinate the Stress and Scenario testing for the Group.
*setting and agreeing tone of risk appetite (to be agreed by relevant Boards).
*developing and owning standards,  policies,  frameworks,  processes,  approaches and reporting.
*producing an annual plan defining the scope of Line 2 activities for the coming year,  to be presented to the Group Risk Committee.
*providing oversight and challenge of the work completed within the entity risk teams,  including reviewing and challenging plans and resourcing profiles,  as well as oversighting key decisions taken within the entity.
*producing consolidated reports for presentation to Group Board / Board committees,  notably the Group Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA).
*identifying emerging risks and trends across the Group entities.
*maintaining strong relationships with UK Regulators.

We anticipate that the successful candidate for this exciting new position will have responsibility for the following:
*involved in the production of the ORSA,  to include helping to produce and review detailed workpapers to support the overall conclusions,  as well as challenging the business on key developments / assumptions.
*involved in the co-ordination of the Stress and Scenario testing programme,  helping to produce and present concise periodic updates to stakeholders.
*provide proactive advice and practical support to the business to ensure compliant processes whilst balancing operational demands.
*routinely undertake root-cause analysis of failures and near-misses,  to mitigate against the risk of repeat events.
*liaise with the wider Entity Risk functions to ensure the overall integrity and consistency of the business’ approach to managing conduct and risk,  whilst always maintaining a proportionate outlook and relevance to the nature of the business’ activities.
*develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships across Group Corporate Governance functions.
*maintain a thorough understanding of market dynamics and emerging regulatory themes to support recommendations and encourage positive change within the Group.
*nurture a culture of awareness and understanding of key conduct and risk themes amongst the whole team.

We anticipate that the successful candidate for this exciting new opportunity will have the following skills,  knowledge and experience:
*given the key responsibilities for this opportunity,  experience of Stress and Scenario testing and / or being involved in the production of an ORSA in a financial services company is desirable.
*with a background in Insurance / Financial Services / Banking,  it would be beneficial for you to have a strong understanding of solvency and capital positions.
*a background in Mathematics,  Modelling and / or Quantitative Analysis would be beneficial within this opportunity.
*however,  we believe that our customer would be happy to receive applications from candidates with a strong background in Mathematics / Financial Modelling,  who can demonstrate a strong developed commercial awareness.
*possess an understanding of the regulatory landscape and the application of FCA rules within an Insurance / Financial Services / Banking environment.
*maintain a customer-centric outlook,  allied to a clear understanding of the operational processes within the business.
*be professional and organised in their approach to all accountabilities,  recognising that this role is key to the effective running of the business and the management of risk and reputation.
*maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory developments and demonstrate a willingness to share that knowledge for the benefit of the business and team.
*use initiative & proactivity to progress issues independently and quickly assimilate issues and necessary actions,  seeking clarity and / or support as required to secure the right outcome.
*use highly effective planning and organising skills to support task management and problem solving,  as well as demonstrate excellent time management capability.
*ensure that all communication is clear and appropriate for its intended audience,  with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation.
