We're searching for an experienced Mobile App Developer with specialist knowledge of React Native,  to build and deliver health applications for both Android and iOS,  someone eager to take the next step into a Lead Developer function.  You'll join an exciting scale-up Development team,  growing the team and leading work on our customer's flagship mobile app stack,  including front-end (React Native,  JavaScript,  TypeScript) and back-end (AWS Amplify,  GraphQL).

*Hybrid working model - our customer has access to office space in Cardiff City Centre,  which is shared with other fast-growing start-ups.  The team works remotely,  with team get togethers in Cardiff every 2-3 weeks.

As a Lead Developer,  you'll be tasked with leading a small team of two Developers and working alongside a virtual CTO,  Head of Product,  UX Designer and a QA Engineer.

Whilst it's not necessary to have experience of all of the areas outlined below,  you would need to demonstrate your willingness to learn and the ability to adapt to new technologies:

  • 2 years of managing a team or individuals.
  • 5 years commercial experience working with React Native,  on both iOS and Android.
  • Proven commercial experience using React Native for Health Applications.
  • Strong knowledge of React fundamentals including Hooks, State Management, HOC, Events.
  • Knowledge of Redux or similar,  with a strong understanding of the importance of Immutability.
  • Experience using ES6+ and excellent working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
  • Experience with AWS Amplify (Cognito, AppSync).
  • Experience consuming REST and GraphQL API's.
  • Experience using Git version control.
  • Experience building responsive layouts that utilise UI best practices, to deliver simple and effective UX.
  • Passionate about code quality,  code reviews and the importance of continual improvement.
  • A good understanding of Web Accessibility.
