We are currently working alongside our governmental client, as they search for an experienced and enthusiastic Software Engineer to join their team for a period of 6 months. The Software Engineer will design, run, test and improve software that meets their needs. They will be responsible for writing clean and secure code, following a test-driven approach. The code that they create will be open by default and should be easy for others to re-use in the future.
We anticipate that the successful applicant for this opportunity will have the following responsibilities:
*deliver simple or small software components that form part of a product.
*develop and enhance software solutions to meet user story needs.
*follow best practice guidelines and help to improve those guidelines.
*write clean, secure and well-tested code.
*coach and mentor others.
*designing software products to serve a variety of user needs, as well as enhancing existing software products to meet evolving user needs.
*ensuring a quality software product is delivered and maintained.
*being a practitioner in the use of technologies and tools, evaluating and adopting those appropriate for the environment.
*supporting an environment where continuous or “on-demand” delivery can be enabled if needed by the business, using effective delivery and deployment techniques.
We believe that the successful applicant for this exciting new opportunity will have the following skills, knowledge and experience:
*proficient in, but not limited to Go, React, Javascript, Typescript, Node, Python, Flask framework, Databases (MySQL or Microsoft SQL), SQL Alchemy, HTML / CSS, PYTest and Selenium.
*proficient in CI / CD.
*practitioner of service-oriented architectures and micro-services.
*cloud experience – preferably AWS or Google.
*proficient in using container technology (such as Docker).
*experienced in software delivery lifecycle within an Agile environment.
